Tennessee has 95 counties, which are divided into nine districts for the 108th Congress. According to census data of Year 2000, the population of Tennessee is 5,689,283. Each congressional district has a population around 632,000. Although these congressional districts have nearly the same number of population, their demographic characteristics are quite different.
