CDtoTable is a Windows based program for extracting tables from the US Census 2000 SF3 files for 108 th and 109 th Congressional Districts. SF3 files are often referred to as Sample or Long Form files. The SF3 files contain a wealth of information (813 tables containing over 16500 variables). However, these tables and variables are distributed over 77 zipped files, and summary levels (types of enumeration areas, such as Congressional Districts, Congressional Districts by County, and Congressional Districts by Census Tract) are intermingled within each file. Extracting a particular table or tables for specific summary levels can be a laborious, daunting task. This program was written to make this task as easy as possible. The program uses a simple point-and-clickinterface that allows users to select tables and summary levels. It then creates the requested output tables in one of two formats: either dbf files or csv (comma delimited text) files.
