Welcome

The Tennessee Electronic Atlas (TEA) project is designed to provide information about our state. A project of the Department of Geography, University of Tennessee, TEA seeks to serve several constituencies, including students, educators, political leaders, people involved in economic development and natural resource management, and the simply curious. In addition, TEA serves as a test bed for the use of the Internet as a platform for geographic communication. Students work on TEA as a way of learning new technologies. TEA is a dynamic entity. The content, look and feel, and technology found on this site will change as we work on new projects and implment new technologies.

TEA is housed in the Department of Geography and is currently funded through the James and Catherine Ralston Family Fellowship. Initial funding for this site was provided by the University of Tennessee PITRS program, along with donations from the Tennessee Geographic Alliance and County Technical Assistance Service. Their contributions are gratefully acknowledged.

The Project Director for TEA is Dr. Bruce A. Ralston. The Director of Cartography is Mr. William Fontanez.
